Don’t Let Your Smile Fade
The retention stage of treatment starts when we take your braces off. This stage lasts for a minimum of 24 months.
To get long lasting results, you need to follow through with wearing your retainer as directed.
Removable Retainers
You’ll have removable retainers on your upper teeth. These are called maxillary wrap-around retainers. You’ll need to be very careful with these because they are fragile and expensive to replace.
Keep your retainer in a case when it’s not in your mouth. To clean it, rinse with warm water and use denture cleaner occasionally.
Wear your retainers at all times except when eating or brushing your teeth. You should also take them out when playing a sport with a mouthguard and while swimming.
We may change your retention plan after 12 months of full-time wear. After that, you’ll wear your retainer at night.
Your final smile depends on your retainers, so follow through with all the hard work you’ve put in so far.
